Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
On an external LCD (Dell 2408WFP 1920x1200), connected to my laptop (Thinkpad T43) through a docking station, the performance of X (e.g. Compiz and some cairo-based animation from applications like GNOME Do) is slower/sluggish than on the laptop's LCD. Moreover, when playing a video (using xv) on the external LCD, the desktop is seen corrupt (as shown in the screenshot attached). Worth to mention is when the corruption happens, the animation etc. do feel smoother. This is not experienced on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty.
