Krzysztof, you should be using 3.13.0-39 patched by me (the newer version is the vanilla Ubuntu kernel which does not support MST).

So basically any DP cable should be ok. If you have the intel drivers and the correct kernel up and running nothing else is required to get a working multi-display setup.
