I would add here that it's hard to test the issue in other desktop
environments since, at least for me, Unity was the only that worked with
the DisplayLink device I have (AOC e1649Fwu). I'm currently using a
slightly tweaked version of this script[1] to enable the display, and
while it works on Unity (but gets slow), it crashes completely on MATE,
my preferred desktop environment. I couldn't test in other ones yet, and
neither have reported it to MATE devs yet - as I have no idea on how to
start the report.

Additionally, in my notebook with Intel Graphics 4000 it was a little
bit slower but very usable, besides the mouse blinking like crazy, and
some Compiz plugins failing (like Enhanced Desktop Zoom, that does not
zooms but the cursor disappears while in supposedly higher zoom levels).
However, in my work environment, with an unknown onboard videocard, it
got so slow I had to stop using the second screen.

I'll follow the steps suggested to the others and report two bugs from
both computers. Hope it helps this get fixed :)
