You cannot install the AMD legacy Catalyst/fglrx on Ubuntu 14.04/Trusty. AMD has not updated its legacy driver for modern versions of the kernel or Xserver, and Canonical cannot fix it since it is closed source. Your best option is the open-source radeon driver, which is installed and used by default. ** Changed in: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 1058040 fglrx-installer not working with AMD Radeon/Mobility Radeon HD 2000-4000 cards in Quantal+ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to fglrx-installer in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1365902 Title: fglrx (not installed): fglrx kernel module failed to build To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1365902/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
