I've never been able to get to the Console once I get the error message that Ubuntu is starting in low graphics mode. If I opt to "Run in low graphics mode for just one session" the display freezes. The same happens if I opt to "Exit to console login" or if I press Ctrl + Alt + F1 or Ctrl + Alt + Backspace to exit the GUI.
The only way to get into Ubuntu is to either go through recovery or keep rebooting and hope that it doesn't go into low graphics mode. RIght now I'm running the official AMD drivers that I've managed to compile. The problem now happens less often (i.e. less than 3/4 of the time) but it's still a real pain. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313289 Title: Low Graphics Mode with AMD R9 270X To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1313289/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
