Having the same issue as everyone else in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1184451
CTRL-F1 and then back to CTRL-F7 works sometimes.
Either the whole screen freezes (clock stuck, mouse/kb frozen --
requires a force reboot) OR a single window freezes for 5-30 seconds
while other processes are working.
