This system cannot resume from hibernate on 12.04.4 (3.11.0-15) with the nouveau driver
Steps: 1. Install 12.04.4, boot to desktop 2. Hibernate with "sudo pm-hibernate" command 3. Press the power button to wake it up Expected result: * System hibernated / resume from hibernate successfully. Actual results: * System successfully hibernated. * On resume, you will see the desktop instead of the unlock dialog, and it freezes, the cursor is the only responding thing. A moment later, you will see the login screen, but it totally freezed again when you try to log in. It's identical to bug 1182296, I think we can narrow down this to the nouveau driver ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log.old" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1184467/+attachment/4004633/+files/Xorg.0.log.old ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => Confirmed ** Summary changed: - [Dell Precision T7600] System failed to resume from hibernate (kernel panic) + [Dell Precision T7600] System failed to resume from hibernate with nouveau driver ** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => xserver-xorg-video-nouveau-lts- saucy (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau-lts-saucy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1184467 Title: [Dell Precision T7600] System failed to resume from hibernate with nouveau driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau-lts-saucy/+bug/1184467/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
