Public bug reported: The default settings for the touchpad of a macbook 4,1 in Ubuntu 13.10 render an awkward mouse behaviour that is found during and after installation. The following issues are found:
1) Moving the cursor shows an intermittent behaviour because the parameters for FingerLow and FingerHigh are way too high, hence affecting the sensitivity and requiring more pressure to move the mouse. 2) Having enabled Two-finger tap for right click, using vertical scrolling with two fingers often ends up in a right click. Fixes: I have permanently fixed the settings by editing the first Section block in file "/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf" Section "InputClass" Identifier "touchpad catchall" Driver "synaptics" MatchIsTouchpad "on" # This option is recommend on all Linux systems using evdev, but cannot be # enabled by default. See the following link for details: # http://who-t.blogspot.com/2010/11/how-to-ignore-configuration-errors.html MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*" Option "FingerLow" "30" Option "FingerHigh" "40" Option "MaxTapMove" "25" EndSection The added parts are: Option "FingerLow" "30" Option "FingerHigh" "40" Option "MaxTapMove" "25" where FingerLow and FingerHigh fix issue (1), and MaxTapMove fixes issue (2). ** Affects: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-input-synaptics in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1246215 Title: Ubuntu 13.10, wrong settings for Apple (mouse) touchpad in Macbook 4,1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-synaptics/+bug/1246215/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
