Public bug reported: On my Thinkpad R61i with i915 graphics I often find that many adjacent short horizontal rows of pixels get swapped with each other suddenly and for no apparent reason (see screenshot). This can apparently happen in any window.
In a possibly related incident, yesterday all my displayed text suddenly turned to barely recognisable Klingon and I was forced to log out and log back in again.
