Tried again recently on latest Xubuntu and Kubuntu. Still broken. NOTE: I found DreamLinux (http://www.dreamlinux.com.br/) 3.5, which is a Debian-based distro, to work without a hitch. I think it also used NVidia's 180.xx drivers.
