i filled bug #423694 which has been duped to this. i saw the message when using xserver-xorg-core 2:1.6.3+git20090805+server-1.6-branch.f274e595-0ubuntu0sarvatt from https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa
