I am on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and suddenly encountering this problem, but only for the right mouse button. It is sporadic, sometimes more often, sometimes less. Really annoying if using easystroke as your system goes wild then with executing batches of arbitrary mouse gestures :D :D Never thought of this possibly being a hardware issue - will test a different mouse, thx for that hint!
