Posting just in case anyone has the same experience I had I thought the fixed skype wasn't working for me on 13.04 (was continuing to segfault), but then noticed eventually that when my system was upgraded from 12.10 to 13.04, the Partner repository had not been updated to raring, and so it was installing skype for the wrong distro. In particular I had 4.1.0.20.0-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 installed and it took me a long time to notice the 12 where there should have been a 13!
