Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati
I am using the xorg-edgers PPA with radeon DRM. In any editable text
field (such as this one) the type is illegible. Symptom can easily be
seen in gnome-terminal, where typing results in fields of gibberish.
Redrawing the screen or window -- for instance with alt-tab or a virtual
desktop switch -- will correct the problem temporarily.
