well i also have this bug and own an amd 7870 videocard using the catalyst driver... i think it is obvious that every proprietary linux video driver causes this issue.
of course the "LD" workaround also lets skype start for me, but i have a severe crackling on my "headset" for a few seconds and starting and ending calls does not work as flawless as it should ... i tested my headset audio output through audacity and there are no disortions, so this is a skype thing ... im not sure if it is connected to the "library linking" ... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-304 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1155327 Title: skype crashed with SIGSEGV in malloc@plt() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304/+bug/1155327/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
