Public bug reported:
DO : start Kubuntu with latest xserver-xorg package updates.
DO : switch to VT using Ctrl+Alt+Fx
EXPECT : the screen actually switches to VT
ACTUAL : black screen with no signal sent to it (it becomes actually in
sleeping mode). However it is possible to switch back to X.

AMD Phenom X4 9850
8 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 660 Ti with NVidia 304 proprietary driver
Kubuntu 13.04.
I underline the fact that my installation lasts from Feisty without any
trouble during upgrades, the only difference I see with newer installs
is that the font within VT looks like old MS-DOS fonts, instead of the
nicer fonts of newer Ubuntu releases, but that's the only noticeable
difference.
Everything else works fine, and accessing shells through SSH also works,
so this is really a display problem.
