Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 12.10, updates applied - top shows compiz using between 300 and 500% CPU (it is an 8 core AMD processor), and the system runs slower than it should. 8GB RAM. It is a fairly recent nvidia card (default nouveau drivers). lspci shows "NVIDIA Corporation Device 0fc6 (rev a1)"
