Public bug reported:

Since I upgraded to raring, I get a garbled screen as soon as I logout.

>From there, it becomes hard to do anything other than reboot :-/

This is becoming increasingly annoying as I was using logout/login to
work around some issues in unity ;_;

I tried the ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa but have purged it since it didn't seem
to have any impact on this issue.
