For me everything freezes completely. If it freezes while listening to music, it starts skipping as if you're listening to a scratched cd :-)
I'm on debian wheezy. To temporarily work around this issue, I use the 3.6.0 kernel from experimental. I'm running on a Dell Latitude E6530, with a core i5 cpu and an nvidia NVS5200 which I disable with vgaswitcheroo.
