If I remember right, nope. I have started with 12.04. Remember the problem occurs on many distors I have tried, it is not a problem of the Ubuntu exclusively. I do not remember what all I have tried but my first thread says Xubuntu 12.04, CrunchBang(debian) as also Xubuntu 12.10 so I believe my self :) that was it.
