@Renaud: If you have a system responsive enough to interact with to kill
processes, this bug is not the right place to comment.  Compiz problems
causing your user interface to lockup are relatively common place and
NOT the same problem causing a COMPLETE HARD LOCK, which result in a
completely unresponsive computer which is what this bug is about.

As a follow up to my experimenting, I can reliably reproduce this bug
within a timeframe of about 24hours.  I left my system without XBMC
running, had an uptime of 5+ days.  The same night I used (and left
running) XBMC, hard lock.

This is the vanilla XBMC package from the Precise repo, installed via
the software center.

Again, just to reitterate to other commentators, this bug is for those
experiencing a COMPLETE HARD LOCK, resulting in a system which is not
responsive to ANY input, loses network connectivity, frozen video
output, and often the audio which is output at the time of lock is
looping.

So those who are able to interact with their system, to switch
terminals, kill processes, ssh in remotely, should look at other bugs.
