Hi, I've been using the Quantal LTS backports for the newer kernel for awhile now. About a week ago, an updated xorg and xorg-server package was released. I wan unable to install it via the Update Manager nor terminal. I figured maybe some other related packages weren't built yet so I waited and waited.
Still today, I cannot upgrade xorg or xorg-server. In terminal, I tried apt-get upgrade but the packages are held back. I've tried apt-get dist-upgrade and the packages are still held back. I tried to outright run apt-get install xorg xorg-server and I get the following error message: Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: xserver-xorg : Depends: xserver-xorg-core (>= 2:1.11) but it is not going to be installed Depends: xserver-xorg-video-all (>= 0~) but it is not going to be installed or xorg-driver-video Depends: xserver-xorg-input-all (>= 0~) but it is not going to be installed or xorg-driver-input Depends: xserver-xorg-input-evdev (>= 0~) but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. Any advice on how to fix this? Thank you for your time. --Ricardo N Feliciano About.me/RicardoNFeliciano
