I downloaded an iso of the daily build for Saturday-- Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Alpha i386 (20090829.2). I booted the iso "live" from a USB stick and I did not see the reported behavior. Yay!
For a complete test I also copied an iso of the 9.04 "Jaunty Jackelope" to a USB stick and booted it in exactly the same way and... I ALSO did not see the reported behavior again !! Hmmmmm.... I did have trouble getting the chosen resolution and monitor arrangement to "stick" when using the 9.10 live iso. (The resolution tool was never able to successfully create a virtual desktop large enough to accommodate two screens at max resolution. It will offer to create one, tell me to logout, and then when I log back in, the virtual desktop has not been created large enough to accommodate both screens.) A separate problem? On the PLUS side, The full 1680x1050 resolution is always properly appearing as a choosable option for the large LCD monitor. (Unlike the original reported behavior. I have not seen that happen in months.) Thank you for all your work tracking this! -- [X300] full resolution - card requires tweaking https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370103 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
