Thanks Nick This had been driving me mad, tried Ubuntu 12.04 & 12.10, Mint 13 & 14, lmde, fedora 17 and 18 the intel driver always caused a segmentation fault. Could not get fglrx drivers to work with 7700M until installing xserver-xorg-video-intel_2.20.9-0ubuntu2+andrik2_amd64.deb
