I do not know if it will help either, but replacing "sna" with "uxa" in /etc/X11/xorg.conf ( or creating a new file with these contents:
Section "Device" Identifier "intel" Driver "intel" Option "AccelMethod" "uxa" EndSection ) will at least make gnome-shell / unity / ... run. The problem: graphics problems (transparency, smoothing, performance, ...). My graphics card is defined as "Mobile IntelĀ® 4 Series Express Chipset Family" in Windows, as "Mobile IntelĀ® GM45 Express Chipset x86/MMX/SSE2 " in the Settings and yells about i915 hangs in dmesg on boot-time when running with SNA. I would like if there will be a fix for that without changing the "AccelMethod" option. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/932900 Title: Unity freeze, crashes when trying to restart - GPU lockup with IPEHR: 0x7a000002 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/932900/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
