This is definitely related to Xorg. I have crashes left and right, regardless whether I am using nvidia-current or nouveau. Nouveau crashes less, but its always a sefault in Xorg it seems.
The most stable workaround for me is to run Classic Gnome, and even there, certain apps trigger a crash (Thunderbird, Firefox, Online Account from within System Settings....). I've attached a Xorg crash log from /var/crash as reference... ** Attachment added: "_usr_bin_Xorg.0.crash" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/973096/+attachment/3278215/+files/_usr_bin_Xorg.0.crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/973096 Title: Nvidia driver causes xorg crash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/973096/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
