Hello, new Ubuntu user over here. I followed the directions as linked by Chris, and apt-get continues to tell me the following:
The following packages have unmet dependencies: nvidia-173 : Depends: xorg-video-abi-10 but it is not installable Recommends: nvidia-settings but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. I noticed that the instructions were for Aptitude - is this the correct procedure for apt-get? I do not see any new drivers under System Settings > Additional Drivers either. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers-173 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/948053 Title: nvidia-96 and nvidia-173 uninstallable on Precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/948053/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
