I should point out that I was NOT affected by the related bug on 10.04 - I had it running for years without issues, 64bit with nvidia driver. The driver version was 195.36.24-0ubuntu1~10.04.2 for 10.04 and for 12.04 it is 295.40-0ubuntu1
