Timo, I'm building a test kernel with this patch committed in 3.3.5: http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.freedesktop.xorg.drivers.intel/10832
I don't see it in 3.2.0-25 and the description appears relevent - the patch applies a GPU hang fix for gen 6 (Sandy Bridge) to >= gen 6 (gen 7 including Ivy). I don't have a hang from the session menu on our Ivy Bridge hardware. Only either random hangs - or, as mentioned, it's pretty easy to cause by quickly scrolling up and down in Google Search image results - takes up to a couple minutes. The scrolling clue came from here: http://partiallysanedeveloper.blogspot.com/2012/05/ivy-bridge-hd4000 -linux-freeze.html Some System76 users followed these directions and haven't seen the freezes since. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/999910 Title: [IVB]12.04 64 bit System freezes (mouse, keyboard) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/999910/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
