I have solved it now, but there is still a bug, as the transition to Precise did not work automatically.
I had an old xorg.conf which defined only my old 1680x1050 Samsung monitor which died a year ago. Natty and Oneiric happily worked with my new Eizo with 1920x1080 and this file, Precise not. After removing the file and moving my .config away I got back to 1920x1080. I attach the bad xorg.conf. ** Attachment added: "xorg.conf" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/999056/+attachment/3158289/+files/xorg.conf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/999056 Title: REGRESSION: 1920x1080 (standard HDTV) resolution with Intel graphics not working any more To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/999056/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
