i noticed random applications crash or freeze up. blender 3d for example
crashes when i add a 'uv sphere'.
most times it just segfaults. only one time it showed this dmesg log:

it also crashes (sort of) when i just subdivide the faces of a cube 3
times in a row. there is no visible crash. but the last messages
indicate some locking in progress and then it exits. since this kind of
strange problems not only occur with blender, i assume there is some
kind of problem at a lower level. kernel? drivers? libs?
