I've been having the same issue: Intel® Core™ i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz MSI Z77A-G43 16GB RAM DDR3 Using onboard graphics
- The machine randomly freezes. It completely locks up, ie. keyboard cap locks indicator won't even change, mouse cursor won't move, screen is completely stuck. I seemed to have fixed this problem by installing the Liquorix kernel - http://liquorix.net/ Unity is now a bit less responsive, but Gnome 3 is great. No freezes since using this new kernel. So clearly there's an issue with the Ubuntu kernel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 64bit completely freezes frequently To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/993187/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
