I have the same problem here on my Xubuntu Precise Pangolin. It was already present running Xubuntu Oneiric. The only application that shows this is LibreOffice (didn't try OpenOffice) and it only happens with the Xfce desktop (I tested KDE and Gnome Shell and the bug didn't appear there).
