I've been using the last kernel released with 11.10 since my crash yesterday. So far, I haven't had any problems. If I can last another day, I'll be 95% sure that solved the problem. I don't think I've gone 2 days since my upgrade on this computer. Oddly enough, I've upgraded 3 other laptops as well, one of which has an nvidia Quadro NVS 140M, but so far only my dual xeon w/ 24G ram & nvidia gt9600 workstation is having this problem. Only one of my laptops is running x64, but the one with the nvidia card is i386.
It looks like some people suffering from this problem have ATI cards and/or are on i386 as well, so maybe that isn't the common denominator. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 64bit completely freezes frequently To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/993187/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
