for some people downgrading to 295.33 worked but you should take note that you have to do it in virtual terminal and you have to stop lightdm because if you dont NVidia installer will not run, because there's an active X session and after finishing the installation you might get a black screen. just wait for a min and then type "sudo reboot now" then press enter to reboot your machine.
