Yes, I think a pm-utils snippet is a good enough hack for precise and an SRU, provided that (1) it has been verified that un/reloading the module does not introduce more problems than it solves (there were modules which caused kernel oopses on unloading, or freezes of X or other processe), and (2) there is an upstream kernel bug so that this can eventually be fixed properly.
