** Description changed: Hi I tried the Ubuntu 12.04-beta2 LiveCD and decided to click on install and after reboot I have only a black screen (Monitor shows: No Signal) but the system is up as I can ssh into the box and reboot/shutdown it remote. I have tried even a daily build but the same result no working monitor setup CD image used: http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/precise- desktop-amd64.iso Monitor is a 24" with 2 HDMI Ports connected to a Video Card with NVidia 9600 chip (HDMI Port) I have tried also "nomodeset" but this change nothing. After that I tried openSUSE 12.1 and it works with it's standard driver "nouveau" so it seems an Ubuntu problem as Windows 7 works too with windows drivers - (NVidia get not used on this box). + (NVidia get not used on this box) + + + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204596] [drm:drm_edid_block_valid] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 2 + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204600] Raw EDID: + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204603] 00 ff ff ff ff ff ff 00 04 72 cf ad a0 bd 37 14 + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204605] 2b 15 01 03 80 35 1e 78 ea 60 85 a6 56 4a 9c 25 + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204607] 12 50 56 b3 0c 10 71 4f 81 00 95 00 d1 c0 81 40 + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204609] 81 c0 b3 00 01 01 02 3a 80 18 71 38 2d 40 58 2c + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204611] 45 00 13 2b 21 00 00 1a 00 00 00 fc 00 53 32 34 + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204613] 33 48 4c 0a 20 20 20 20 20 20 00 00 00 fd 00 37 + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204615] 4b 1e 50 12 00 0a 20 20 20 20 20 20 00 00 00 ff + Apr 15 20:16:17 cruncher kernel: [ 104.204617] 00 4c 48 36 30 43 30 32 37 38 30 31 30 0a 01 80 + Apr 15 20:16:18 cruncher kernel: [ 104.512880] [drm:drm_edid_block_valid] *ERROR* EDID checksum is invalid, remainder is 53 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-nouveau in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982113 Title: Monitor connected via HDMI stays black To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/982113/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
