I am also having this problem. The problem is reproducible in the latest version of any distro. I've tried compiling the latest kernel and xorg from git and problem still exists :(
I think you should rename the title of the bug to something like "Touchpad and trackpoint glitches on Synaptics multi-touch touchpads."
