The nvidia driver 295.20 works so far for me on Ubuntu 11.10. I'm using a nVidia Corporation G72M [Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300] (rev a1) in my laptop. Unfortunately the gtk-window-decorator dies from time to time:
