You have been subscribed to a public bug:
wine fails to configure on Precise amd64 when specifying GLU support, ie
with:
./configure -with-glu
The failure message is:
checking for -lGLU... not found
configure: error: libGLU 32-bit development files not found, GLU won't be
supported.
In Oneiric, the required dev files were in ia32-libs-multiarch:i386, and
I have this installed in Precise.
To get to this stage, I also had to manually download and install these
deb files because they are missing from the repositories (ie they don't
appear in Synaptic) and their absence caused other errors:
libx11-dev_1.4.99.1-0ubuntu2_i386.deb
libxau-dev_1.0.6-4_i386.deb
