During the boot process my notebook (an about 2 year old Dell Vostro
1310) seems to halt for like 25-45 seconds before showing the boot
splash. Nothing seems to happen (hdd led and cpu led hardly light up in
between). When I disable the boot splash the only thing it shows is a
blinking dash. The system on the machine is a fresh Kubuntu 11.10
installation.
