The nvidia binary 285.05.09 driver doesn't completely solve the problem either. Large windows display as all white; if you resize them small enough they display again. E.g. the default terminal window size is OK, but 3x that size is not. Trying to switch users is a complete disaster; the screen never recovers from that.
