I have the same problem with vino-server in an oneiric system with a ATI Video (ATI Technologies Inc RS880 [Radeon HD 4250]), but not running the fglrx proprietary driver. What I get is a session with sporadic updates - I can get the screen updated by wiping a terminal window around the screen. So I can confirm that this is not just an fglrx-specific bug.
