Pardon if the bug is actually different. The Intel driver at the time of release seems to have fixed Kai's problem.
Installed release Kubuntu 11.10, Intel Integrated video i965 (don't know if it's "gm"). Crashes X every time on login. Installed packages from xorg-edgers-ppa and rebooted. Now KDE starts with compositing, but compiz crashes with a segfault 11. I'm trying to learn where to look for logs (Xorg.0.log and kdm.log don't seem to have specific info). When I get more (and after installing debugging symbols), I will post here unless otherwise directed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803986 Title: [i965gm] GPU lockup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/803986/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
