I have attached dmesg1 which was from my machine booting (also note that with this monitor attached I also see the issue highlighted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/822929). I then reproduced the bug (oddly the first few times I tried to reproduce, when I clicked Suspend and then resumed, it would take me back to GDM). I did though get it to suspend properly and show the bug outlined here and I took my dmesg and that is the attached dmesg2.
