Hi Jay, Sorry you're having trouble, however we no longer provide development support in the distro for the i845 GPU. I looked at your crash dump anyway, but it was not clear to me why it was failing; it appears to be invalid memory being accessed.
Fortunately, upstream still maintains the 8xx codebases and may be willing to help your debug the issue and get a fix committed that we can include in future ubuntu releases. The only workaround I can suggest is to stick with an older version of Ubuntu. ** Visibility changed to: Public ** Summary changed: - Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV + [i845] Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/834883 Title: [i845] Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/834883/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
