Adding options "acpi_osi=Linux acpi_backlight=legacy" in GRUB worked for me on my friend's computer... mostly. Although the brightness buttons can now control the backlight, Linux can't, and it still turns off once in a while (though it's easy enough to turn back on)
I really hope this gets fixed soon, it's a pain, and makes Ubuntu look pretty bad. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/744187 Title: [g45] Black screen on boot acer travelmate 5735Z, intel gma 4500mhd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/744187/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
