Hi Maxime, my laptop is a sony vaio vpcsb with hybrid graphics intel + ati (I keep the ati switched off with vgastitcheroo). Everything seemed to be fixed with 3.0rc4 kernel, but then I had not tested googleearth.
Unfortunately, I had some problems with 3.0 kernel, that was seemed to be not compatible with virtualbox (dkms reporter an error while compiling virtualbox kernel module). So I switched back to 2.6.39-3 kernel and old intel driver. I'm sorry I cannot give you more informations. Anyway I agree with your last point. The new kernel is necessary for the new intel drivers, so it should be provided by the ppa (or at least tell the user to manually get it!). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/802558 Title: [xorg-edgers] huge performance regression after upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/802558/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
