1 July Daily Build live on boot, Acer Aspire one netbook Ctrl-Alt-t terminal session: df<enter> killed Xorg. I don't know lightdm or plymouth code but it does appear to be consistent with the comment in bug#802271 about a race condition between lightdm and plymouth.
Difference is 1 July Xorg crashed then ubuntu immediately restarted X back to a login screen. I did not have to manually restart X. Subsequent df<enter> no problem.
