I must say that it's kind bizzare. I installed ubuntu 11.04 today, I upgraded everything to natty-proposed, rebooted installed nvidia-current rebooted and my 8600M GT has started working. After few hours I rebooted once again and my nvidia stoped working. I found that topic and decided to migrate to kernel 2:32 like it was in post #20, after reboot I realized that I hasn't changed grub config so I won't be able to run old kernel but to my astonishment I my nvidia started working once again on kernel 2.39. I looked into logs and there are still errors that my card is unsupported. I don't want to reboot my notebook to test If it still will work. My kernel log in attachment: May 28 13:32:29 mk kernel: [ 719.758153] - I think it's time of my crash when my card didn't work May 28 15:13:16 mk kernel: [ 16.824761] - and here it's working
I'd love to help and post more info if need. ** Attachment added: "kern.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers/+bug/661248/+attachment/2146025/+files/kern.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to nvidia-graphics-drivers in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/661248 Title: Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT doesn't work with nvidia-current 260 _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
